Fignting leaching

Increasing CEC thanks to humus

From a physico-chemical viewpoint, negatively charged humus can fix nutrients reversibly. Humus Cation Exchange Capacity is very high (see diagram) and plays a major role in regulating soil life. Besides, the induced microbial biomass represents a nutrient stock for the plant.

Consequently, the best way to fight leaching consists in increasing soil’s humic rate and biological life.

Only can VEGEVERT type organic amendments fulfil both functions significantly. It must be added to the building of lawns or else to support maintenance operations.
