Thatch build-up risks and resistance
Reducing thatch build-up risks on sportsgrounds and improving the resistance of lawns to stress and diseases
Over a period of successive clippings, an accumulation of grass debris (thatch) that dry and do not biodegrade can be found. This thatch problem causes asphyxia and growth problems for lawns and also favours the development of certain diseases (fusariose, red thread, helminthosporiose, pythium …). At that stage, only operations like scarification, sanding, etc., allow the thatch to disintegrate. Hence, the need to take action when the first symptoms appear through appropriate nutrition and stimulation programs.
Solution
The revitalization of the biological activity of soils and substrates, and the root stimulation of lawns can help to reduce plant debris while strengthening turf resistance to stress and disease. To achieve this, the NSP (Nutrition and Stimulation Program) should target the use of suited organic fertilizers (VEGEVERT). Root growth stimulator such as OSIRYL will revive grass root colonization. The natural resistance of the plants will be favored by ANTYS Ca and other supplies of nutritional supplements.
